The RCEA promotes professional development and knowledge transfer in railway engineering with areas of interest including main line, metros, London Underground and light rail. The RCEA was founded in 1921 and has evolved to keep pace with changes in the UK’s railway industry. In 1997 it broadened membership and became an Associated Society of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
